I seem to be hearing more and more about men starting to shave their pubic areas. Is this true and is
there any type of danger in doing so?

Yes, many men do shave or trim their pubic hair. Shaving pubic hair is very much a personal choice. In
recent years, the media has done a good job of promoting the "hairless genital look." Both male and female
models are depicted in TV, film, and print as having the clean-shaven look. Many people have indicated that
they feel that it's sexy and enticing to see shaved or trimmed pubic hair, while others have reported that
it makes them feel odd because genitals without hair resemble that of a child.
Bottom line is that it's really a matter of preference for you and/or your partner. The only real danger
in trimming, shaving, or waxing this area is the risk of having ingrown hairs. Remember to shave in the
same direction of your hair growth. Also, to avoid ingrown hairs, it may be a better idea to have the
genital area professionally waxed rather than trying to do it on your own. For more information on this
topic, check out two of our Bulletins from the Bedroom articles on the topic of removing pubic hair:

Enjoy the new look if you decide to try it on for a while.
