Ever since going through menopause, I have had problems with lack of
lubrication. I still enjoy sex, but now it sometimes causes irritation.
Any suggestions?

Lack of lubrication is a very common complaint of postmenopausal women.
For some women, it is related to a decline in libido, but that doesn't
seem to be the source of your problem. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
can be very helpful, especially if treatment includes androgens in
addition to estrogen or progesterone. You should consult your
gynecologist about whether such therapy might be appropriate for you.
However, if you are already on such therapy, or don't have any other
need for it, the simplest solution is the use of a personal lubricant.
There are some lubricants such as Intimate Moisture that are specially
designed for menopausal women and others experiencing vaginal dryness.
Other people prefer different types of formulations such as Liquid Silk
or Astroglide. The important thing is to stick with water- or
silicone-based products that are designed for such use, and don't hunt
around for household alternatives (which can cause irritation, yeast
infections, and dissolved condoms). If you don't like one kind, there
are many others you can experiment with.
Good luck.
